Patuxent Elementary School Gymnasium - Upper Marlboro, MD

ECE provided engineering materials testing and inspection services during the construction of the school gymnasium. The services provided included Structural Steel testing and inspection of steel joists during construction, field testing to ensure that foundation is laid on competent soil as specified in the Design Document, Inspection of all reinforcement and inspection of the HVAC systems. Our field engineer supervised field testing of concrete that included slump, air content, concrete temperature and compression tests. We checked workmanship and requested corrections to be made to work that was not acceptable. Inspection of backfill and compacted materials, and concrete and bituminous for the road way section were performed. Recommendations of remedial action for the roadway section of the bus driveway that failed the proof roll test were made. Monthly progress reports were prepared by our field personnel.
